Once families are enrolled, Households becomes the place you manage tuition and money. This shows up in two spots: the Enrolled Students tab, which is your roster of enrolled students and their tuition plans, and the Billing tab inside a household's detail panel. This guide covers both, so you can see where a family's tuition stands and create a charge when you need to.
Open Households and select the Enrolled Students tab. Unlike the Everyone directory, this view lists only students who are actively enrolled for a school year, each with a tuition plan status badge so you can scan the roster and see who's set up and who still needs attention. You can search the list by name to find a specific student.
Select a student and their enrollment and tuition plan detail opens on the right. At the top you'll see the enrollment itself with an Enrolled or Pending badge, and below it the details of their tuition plan.
If a student doesn't have a tuition plan yet, you can create one from this tab. That's how you go from "enrolled" to "set up to pay."
A tuition plan moves through a lifecycle, and the actions available to you depend on where it is:
Sending a plan delivers it to the guardian so they can review it and select their payment option. From the detail you can also edit a plan while it's still a draft, or cancel a plan that's active.
Tip: Work your roster by tuition plan status. Anything still in Draft needs you to send it; anything Sent is waiting on the family. That quickly tells you where to nudge.
The other place billing lives is inside a household. On the Everyone tab, select a person, and their detail panel includes a Billing tab (credit card icon). This gives you the money view for the whole household — every guardian's charges in one place — with a school-year selector so you can look at the right year.
The Billing tab has two parts:
Together these answer the two billing questions you'll have about a family: "how is their tuition schedule going?" and "what have I billed them outside of tuition?"
Beyond the recurring tuition schedule, you can bill a family for one-off items — a supplies fee, a field-trip cost, a materials charge. Use Create invoice on the Billing tab to open the invoice form, where you'll set:
Once created, the invoice appears in the household's Charges & Invoices list, and you can track its status there.
Note: Creating invoices is a billing feature. If the Create invoice action appears locked on your plan, it isn't available in your current subscription — reach out if you'd like it enabled.
This guide covers billing as you'll meet it from Households — enough to see a family's tuition status, read their installment schedule, and raise a one-off invoice. The fuller mechanics of building tuition plans, payment plans, installments, and accounting are their own topic. For a complete record of payments and invoices across your school, check your Accounting area.
That completes the Households series. You can now find any person, understand how their household is formed, work their full profile, and see where their tuition and billing stand.
