Creating an application is the first hands-on step in enrolling families. In this guide you'll set up the application form itself — its name, the school year it belongs to, and how it charges families. Once it's created, you'll add pricing and questions in the guides that follow.
Navigate to Applications in the left sidebar and open the Application forms tab. Click the button to create a new application. A dialog opens where you'll enter the details below.
Give your application a clear, recognizable name — families won't see it, but you will every time you manage submissions, so make it easy to identify. Names like "2026–2027 Enrollment" or "Fall Co-op Application" work well, especially if you run more than one form.
The description is optional and for your team's reference. Use it to note what the form is for or who it's meant for.
Every application must be tied to a school year. This tells families which academic period they're applying for and keeps your submissions organized by year.
Select the school year from the dropdown. If you don't see the year you need, you'll have to create it first under Account > General — see Create Your First School Year in the Getting Started guide.
Pricing mode controls how families are charged when more than one student is on an application:
You can change the pricing mode later, but it's worth deciding up front since it affects how you'll set your prices in the next step.
Note: Pricing mode only changes the math when a household applies with multiple students. For a single-student application, per-student and per-household charge the same amount.
Once you've entered a name, linked a school year, and chosen a pricing mode, save the application. It now appears as a card on the Application forms tab, where you can open it to add pricing and build your form.
A new application starts empty and unshared — nothing goes out to families until you invite them or share the link. That gives you room to get everything right first.
Tip: If you already have a similar form from a previous year, you don't have to start over. Use Duplicate on an existing application card to copy its questions and settings, then just update the name and school year.
